​Fatefully, Sam and Mads matched on Bumble in January 2018 — Sam was in school, and Mads was home on winter break. They immediately sensed that this love was different.

 

For their first date, they met in Chicago, where they ended up closing down the restaurant and strolling hand-in-hand around the city for hours. Not long after, they officially began dating and navigated long distance through 2020 as they both finished college.

 

During the pandemic, they finally closed the distance and welcomed their pup, Moose, into the family. After a year in Milwaukee, they eventually settled in Los Angeles in 2022.

The Proposal

 

In 2023, to celebrate their five-year anniversary, they planned a trip to Maui. On their second day, Mads surprised Sam with a photoshoot on Po'olenalena Beach — where she asked Sam to marry her. They spent the rest of the exciting week lounging on the beach and exploring the island as a newly engaged couple.

 

After seven years together, Sam and Mads are thrilled to celebrate their marriage with their closest family and friends!
